August 17, 2016 - Nearing the end of its life. Cheesy for the first hour, then hints of citrus and butterscotch. Fading.

May 10, 2014 - White Burgundy Evening (Will and Jodi's): This bottle superb, with no hint of the pox or any other issues, confirming that my last bottle was a bit off. Rich golden yellow, this was opened an hour before serving, and was still developing until the last sip 3 hours later. Very ponderous and slow to open, this was group's least favorite until it started to open up. Deep, rich, subtle, and profound. A bit of heat on the finish as this warms, this is not a small or wispy wine. This will last another decade, no doubt, so allow plenty of time for my next bottle. Tied for first place.

November 15, 2013 - First night: A mixed bag. PnP, then let sit for half an hour as the funk blew off. Dull yellow gold color. Quiet nose. Opens at the one hour mark to show loads of glycerin and delicious smoky peach and white orchard fruits. Graham cracker, lemon meringue, honey, and a nice bitter note appears at the end to balance the fairly soft feel. This has nice fruit, but is lacking zip and verve. Quite a decent finish though. So, while this is better than I feared and others' reviews, this isn't what I'd hoped for either. We tasted at the Domaine this summer and it was memorable for the quality, but while this has some good aspects (it's loaded with character), it's just a bit blowsy, clumsy and getting shaggy. 90pts pure quality, 86pts personal preference.
Next evening: This seemed to gain some focus and precision. It's hard to imagine it was the wine (given its shagginess), yet that's what I observed. On hindsight, I'd say this is a young wine, and this was a premoxed or mildly corked bottle. I'll be very curious to see what my next bottle does, and whether this was off, needed time, or is just old and on the way down. [OMG! I'm starting to dabble in older white burgs and the premox issue. Danger Will Robinson, danger!]

July 16, 2013 - Medium-light aureolin color. This is extremely restrained on both the nose and the palate. Very faint aromas of butter and stone. An hour after opening, this has the most subtle wisp of a floral smell. On the palate this is one-note (minty lemon) and lacks concentration and depth. The acids remain firm but they're not supporting anything. I thought the 2003 was a disappointment, and this is worse still. Have a bottle of the 2007, for which I am not holding out much hope.

March 4, 2013 - Beautifully classic in its structure and proportions. Wood is integrated, giving way to serious minerality. I would still give this a couple more years though. Bottle was sound and very fresh.
