August 3, 2012 - A really solid wine, much as my last TN indicated. I drank this at a little get-together with other wine pros and enthusiasts. We usually blind taste the group on each other's wines. The group as a whole was very impressed with this offering. The nose show a lot of dark fruit, good smoky toast, and vanilla. The Palate was full and lush in the mouth with medium tannin and acidity and well balanced alcohol. Dark fruits again present here, with blackberry and plum. Finished strong and lingering. I have one more bottle of this.

April 14, 2012 - Excellent! Fruit forward. Very clean and finishes smooth. You want this wine. I don't typically enjoy merlot but this is like a great cabernet!

December 8, 2011 - Really nice Napa merlot. Dark in color. Lots of black fruit and the unmistakable Napa hint of mint. On the palate there's currant, charcoal and licorice. Good balance and complexity. Velvet in the mouth. Delicious and vibrant. Almost juicy. Medium to long finish.

December 1, 2011 - I still have one more of these left and I'm glad because this wine is shaping up to be really good.
In Appearance, this was a clear, deep ruby wine with long, thin legs.
The Nose was clean with medium+ intensity that was still developing. Aromas included dark and red fruits like currants and pomegranate and a touch of cranberry. On the secondary level, there were some notes of leather and smoky cedar.
The Palate on this wine was dry and fairly full-bodied, at least medium+. The acidity was also high with surprising medium+ tannin and alcohol levels, but all very well balanced. The flavor intensity was medium+ with notes of smoked cherries, blackberry, and raspberries. This is a big wine for a Merlot that is obviously drawing tannins out of the wood from 3 years of barrel aging. Additionally, the wine takes on a lot of characteristics of the aromatic wood, like cedar, smoky earth, leather, cocoa, and slight note of sweet spice on what was a medium+ length finish.
Overall, this is a really good Merlot that is note typical of the varietal. This is a big wine with a lot of structure that could age for a while. I am glad I have another bottle!

September 21, 2011 - I tasted this at the winery and then got a few bottles in a shipment. This is a really big Merlot. Bourassa says it's made for the "Cab Lover" and I believe it. It's hard to believe it only has 3% Cab in it to give it a little structure, but it was aged for 3 years in French Oak! This gives it a very elegant, Bordeaux feel of toast and dark fruit. This is drinking now, but it will also age a little bit too.
