January 27, 2018 - Good but very short finale. Was expecting more for the price.
April 9, 2017 - Not quite drinking as good as it was last year, but still nice. A pleasant combination of black currant, violet, green pepper and cedar notes. Bold yet smooth. Goes well with spicy food.
December 3, 2016 - I am a huge fan of this vintage as well as all vintages of Stags' Leap Petite Syrah in both their white and black label. Unfortunately though the bottle I opened has lost its luster.
Bottle has been properly stored since release and the cork was in great shape. No corkage on the nose but sadly all the fruit has dropped out of the wine. Its sadly just passed its prime. Sad day....one of my dollar for dollar all time favorite wines and I have a still have seventeen bottles left...
February 14, 2016 - Bold tannins with blueberries, leather and smoke. Aggressive and seductive. Nice with cheese, charcuterie and grilled meat.
October 2, 2015 - Drinking beautifully right now. Didn't take notes but this was the bomb. I have more and will drink soon. I think its getting close to peak.
August 5, 2015 - Couleur mauve très foncé. Aromes de fruit rouge confit, poivre, fumé, boisé. Bonne acidité, long en bouche. Gout entre une Syrah et un cabernet-sauvignon.
July 18, 2015 - Dollar for dollar, best wine on the planet. Very fruit froward with low and well rounded tannins. Low showing of alcohol. Long fish of ripe stone fruits and berries. Rich and full bodied. Huge nose for the varietal.
July 11, 2015 - Very solid, one of the best petite sirah's out there. As per usual, Stags' knows petite sirah, and Stag's knows cab.
January 1, 2015 - Dark inky wine, nice and dry. Easy drinking right now
