August 5, 2011 - Very very very Southern Rhoney. Smokey and Grenachey. Lovely stuff actually. Dark, stewed a little, smoke, balance. Left a little for the following day - but that ended up rather terrible, way too acidic and just plain nasty. Not to age. These Damianitza Uniqautos are very good wines. Not really much like real Melnik (the grape they use is a hybrid of "real" Melnik), but a distinctive and good style of their own. Aging would be wrong for these (unlike "real" Melnik...). 88-90
