December 25, 2019 - I don't know what Pineapple tonrs are, but it is both baffling and uplifting to drink a wine that was harvested thirty years ago and yet tastes like it was made yesterday. Beautiful perlucid light honey colour; nose, very elegant, but which I mean, by this over-used epithet, clear and balanced; on the palate, light, slightly sticky sweet mid-palate, but around sufficient acidity to balance this. Not a great wine, perhaps, but one with integrity, and so young.
I hope that my integrity is still going as strong in thirty years time. I doubt it, somehow.

November 29, 2019 - Riesling and ripe Bordeaux (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): From normal bottle. Clear, pale golden color. Younger than my previous bottles. Clean nose, also different. Not with the heavy Botrytis notes, but with some nice fruit and fresh lime, some honey. Very concentrated.
On the palate very deep and dense with nice fruit, ripe citrus. Not broad or fat, but partially hot. Long. Good Sauternes. 92-93

September 13, 2019 - Auction buy. Saturated cork. Amber colour on the marmalade spectrum. From the Riedel Hardy Rodenstock sauterne glass FWIW. Cumquatty nose (ok, I know that's not a word). Riot of pineapple/apricot essence/lime plus more stuff in the mouth with exploding sweetness. Acid lift and ridiculously long finish. So love it when the cork is a passenger and not a destroyer. 30 years young for sure based on this great bottle. Caramel starting to ooze out of somewhere. This is seriously effing good! Dense, unctuous and in mid development. Yes it will change but it will never get better than now. Some sort of butterscotch heaven awaits it I'm guessing in the future at 50 years if your cork holds.
