July 12, 2012 - Pretty serious and very enjoyable wine, tasty aromatic fruit along the lines of plum, pie cherry and raspberry, balanced by a good dose of rocky earth, some surprisingly firm tannins, and plenty of acidity. Nice out of the bottle but still opening up and improving after 4 hours of air, with more fresh raspberry coming out especially, and faint hints of barnyard. Excellent stuff, too bad I don't have a second bottle to cellar.
