August 23, 2021 - The color here is definitely advanced. Fortunately for us, this bottle didn't show aged taste characteristics in the glass. It was young and vibrant. However, I wouldn't wait on these either. Better to have them a tad too soon than a day late. A complete harmonious and seamless CC.

October 14, 2020 - Sadly, an underwhelming bottle that doesn't live up to my expectations of both the house and the vineyard. The slightly dark yellow colour is pretty much pointing to the reason for this disappointment. The nose is sappy and shows more of a browned apple note, as well as some oak and a little bit of alcohol. The palate isn't as complex and rich as I would expect either, there feels to be a bit of a thinning on the midpalate and there are some advanced browned fruit flavours as well. Passable and drinkable.

August 2, 2020 - This wine appeared to be VERY developed with a solid golden color; showing only modestly overt oak but nothing really forthcoming on the nose; ripe, rich and heavy, butter-laden palate; then peach, citrus and spice box emerge as the wine warms and airs out. Acidity slowly came out as well, cutting through the thick buttery character. I much prefer a cleaner, more classic style of Corton Charlemagne. Surprised (and yet not really) to see the producer as his stuff is usually more overtly oaky nosed and clean and chiseled on palate. The oak came out as “buttery”, likely today’s experience was from 9+ years in bottle.

August 2, 2020 - The aromas are still a bit tight today, but perhaps other bottles would show more on form, I don't know. This is big and brawny. Joe immediately called Corton Charlemagne and we all thought it made sense. Buttered toast, brown spice over ripe peach and lemon custard that show a strong lactic quality on the nose and palate. DENSE mouthfeel, slowly letting up mineral scents and further complexity. I would like to try another bottle on the warmer side. Impressive for its size and intensity.
