November 30, 2021 - This is lovely. Last bottle of a case and at 12 years of age it’s now showing some nice mature Bordeaux flavours. Reminds me of some very good right bank wines. Chateau Figeac? I check my notes and see I’ve said that before. Quite light and classic. Absolutely no green or overtly fruity notes of the past, this is now pencil shaving, graphite and tobacco with some nice cassis. Quite a dry, tight finish. Excellent. Perhaps maturing just a touch soon compared to actual right bank maybe? Checked my purchase data and I paid less than £13 for this back in 2012. That was a bargain and well worth holding onto.
Wow this changes after food. With a wild boar burger it was mature and very soft, now on it’s own and it’s like the clock has turned back 5 years. Quite noticeable tannin now and aromas of green pepper are even wafting into the background. Lovely cassis too. Very nice, dry finish.
This is what cabernet franc is all about.

April 1, 2019 - Cellared from release. Cork shows a couple mm of seepage, but otherwise intact. Dark inky red, only a trace of brick at edges. Peppercorn and pimento on the nose, with blackberry and vanilla extract. Really amazing on the palette - rich but tangy dark fruit, moderately fine tannins, looong finish, well over 30 seconds, with distinct Ribena at the end. Only two more of this fox left in the cellar!

December 21, 2018 - The most beautiful green pepper and chalk nose I know. After a few hours secondary Woody characteritics evolve.

Probably the lightest wine of the night by comparison.

Medium body and acidity in the finish.
