April 30, 2024 - Sadly the last two hot summers have, I think, not been good for the wine in my cellar. New ac unit going in this week! This wine was opened, decanted and drunk within an hour or so. It has lots going on,and In good condition, I would think has plenty of time, if the fruit lasts. All the rest of mine, thankfully 3 dozen or so, is in professional storage and can wait there a while.

Luminous medium burgundy color; lovely perfumed nose.
Stunningly luscious fruit, despite all the years of bottle age this one has.
It has matured beautifully, and it is recommended for your near term drinking pleasure. Outstanding!
February 9, 2024 - This bottle was in its happy place with beautiful fragrant red and dark fruit, Mediterranean spices, earth, floral and mineral notes. Quite robust palate presence, but with an energetic thrust and long, lingering red-fruited finish. A really superb vintage for this wine.

Blueberries, blackberries, pomegranates, sweet yet full tanniic structure. Cranberries at end. Swveral.minute finish. Recommend decant but no aeration

February 4, 2024 - Wow la patience paie! Très beau C9P, aurait pu se bonifier un peu plus avec du carafage mais tout de même à niveau. A très bien accompagné la fondue chinoise.
February 2, 2024 - Nez : de belle intensité, on ressent le côté chaleureux de l’alcool avec un côté enivrant. Le sud ne fait pas de doutes ! Cerises noires trempées - kirschées, framboise noire, mûre, de la réglisse, du poivre et du graphite apportant du lift et de la fraicheur, des herbes de Provence et quelques notes d’évolution en background avec du cuir avec une pointe florale. Un nez complexe aux saveurs précises et pas trop confiturées ou sur-muries. Cela est généreux mais pas de sur-extraction à déplorer selon moi.
Le tout donnant un profil profond, assez capiteux, un peu « sucrailleux » et une aromatique générale qui reste assez sombre.
Bouche : Attaque souple et plutôt fraiche sur de la cerise.
Corps assez ample, glycériné. L’alcool se montre un plus présent en milieu de bouche que sur l’entrée. Même si on est face à un style général hédoniste, généreux et fougueux ("ça envoie!" comme on dit), je trouve qu’on ne bascule pas non plus sur un côté déséquilibré et trop baroque comme chez certains domaines de l'appellation. L’expression aromatique est relativement déliée et fluide (pas non plus pour les "pdf" - on s'entend! ) ; le fruit n’est pas du tout épais ou trop onctueux mais reste très bien équilibré grâce à une belle fraicheur. Les cerises dominent en milieu de bouche entremêlée de notes framboise, de mûre et d’épices (poivre, léger réglisse) et de légères touches florales.
Les tanins sont abondants mais la trame reste très soyeuse et très noble – cela glisse toute seule.
Finale d’assez belle longueur sur une aromatique plus sombre qu’en bouche car les aromes de thé noir, de chocolat, d’herbes aromatiques (en particulier de la sauge et du laurier) prennent le dessus sur le fruit. Le côté sucrailleux de l’aromatique finale est contrebalancé par une légère persistance salée qui fait saliver gentiment.

January 19, 2024 - Expressive nose that made itself known as soon as I popped the cork - raspberry and red cherry with warm spices and some savory notes. This was a last minute decision and didn't have time for a full decant - P&Pd and let sit for 30 minutes in the glass, which turned out to be just fine. Beautiful violet/dark ruby red moving to transparent at the edges. Moderately sweet red fruit on the front of the palate with maybe just a bit of blue-black, nicely judged acidity through the mid palate and very present but refined tannins on a long finish. It's big, bold wine to be sure but not heavy and, despite the 14.5% ABV, did not taste hot or alcoholic. I expected this to taste dark and heavy and while we were surprised that it wasn't, that didn't detract at all from our enjoyment. Will be interesting to see how this develops and if some of the tertiary elements come more to the fore - right now this is still primarily fruit-driven which is fine for now but will check in on the evolution every three or so years.
