December 13, 2013 - Ripe and velvety, this is long and gorgeous. Blackberry, ripe dark cherries, cola and cardamon. Gushing and a decently long finish. Showing rather well still. Drink now - 2016.

November 26, 2012 - Very expressive right off the bat, with wonderfully clear, frank, and precise aromas of kalamata and black cherry, on the palate it really sings--there's nothing muted or dull about this wine, and the acidity, I can't not call it zesty, is so refreshing. It went wonderfully with a "Thanksvegan" dinner, and was liked by all. I was expecting some funk of one kind or another, but nope, this wine is clean as a whistle.

November 18, 2012 - Medium red color. Peppery, stoney, earthy nose, but not the earth of autumn, composting leaves, etc., rather an austere stone, with Asian or Middle Eastern spice flavors and a distinct mouthfeel, clay and chalk. Bright, acidic flavor, with great structure. Redolent of light red fruits, sour cherries, pomegranate. Bitter flavor more often found in certain great wines of Piedmont, Lombardy or Sicily than France. A hefty wine of 14.5% but one with little New World sweetness or extract. Deeply flavorful, sappy, lip-smacking, very long residual flavor, almost vermouth-like lingering flavor. Don't serve this wine until the main course arrives, it would be horrid as a cocktail wine! Tasted after several hours and then again the next day, I have lowered my initial rating because of the clayish mouthfeel. In any case a unique wine.

March 23, 2012 - Just an honest beauty of a Rhone. Not polished, not oaky, just wonderfully precise fruit with slightly grippy tannins and grapy. Excellent. Drink by 2015.

November 3, 2011 - Seemed a bit too early for this one, as herbal and medicinal qualities seemed to outweigh the fruit. Nice texture - velvety and smooth mouthfeel and deep flavor profile that seems like it will improve with time. Served alongside several other bottles and this was the last to be polished off, so it failed that test anyway.

(Domaine Gramenon Côtes du Rhône Poignee de Raisins) Very dark ruby color; nice, fresh, tart berry, grenadine, dried berry, light herb nose; tasty, light and fresh, dried berry, tart mulberry, lavender, light pepper, black fruit palate; medium-plus finish (reminiscent of Occhipinti wines)
