February 23, 2024 - Purchased at winery in 2018. This was a magnum. Pulled cork 7 hours beforehand. The vintage heat was evident with dried out fruit. Fully resolved tannins with overall nice balance and finish. This is drinking at absolute peak and must be on the decline for 750ml format. Two months ago I had the 2002 in magnum and was blown away by the rich layered fruit that was absent here. This paired well with Italian food with its Barolo’esque profile.

April 26, 2018 - Short decant. Nose of red fruit and spice. Ripe red fruit on the palate. Tannins still present. Small amount of baking spice on the palate. This still has a few years left in it.

March 3, 2018 - Very lovely, and completely evolved. Pure cabernet flavors. Wonder Bread in premium wine land. On the downside, at this stage the wine is lacking other desirable attributes such as terroir, acidity and tannins. Probably past its peak? So ultimately somewhat disappointing.

August 19, 2017 - Dinner at our place with Valerie, Meredith and Eileen. Last bottle from a batch bought on release. Splash decanted, drank over 90 minutes.

Fully mature, drinking beautifully now. Best to drink over next 1-2 years. Consistent with prior notes: " Dark garnet core...Big nose of dark fruits, spices...Palate was rich blackberry, cassis, raisins/prunes, dark chocolate, graphite. Long finish 30+ seconds. Tannins sweet and resolved..."

June 3, 2017 - Post dinner, back on the patio with Valerie and Ryan. Followed up the Torre Muga with this bottle.

Consistent with prior notes. I think this is in a great spot, unlikely to get much better. Fully mature, tannins smooth and refined, nice secondary flavors. Would drink remaining bottles over the next couple years...

March 8, 2017 - In NYC, drank half a bottle with dinner in the apartment. PnP, over 2 hours with light fare

Prior notes:" Dark garnet core, no real signs of aging. Big nose of dark fruits, spices...Palate was rich blackberry, cassis, raisins/prunes, dark chocolate, graphite. Long finish 30+ seconds. Tannins sweet and resolved..."

This bottle richer and more expressive than last (from memory). Dark cherry, chocolate, figs, coffee. Rounded, smooth on the finish. In a good spot, I think the wine is at it's best over next 2-3 years
