April 16, 2017 - They built this wine so far into the future that the winery collapsed. Great WA terroir and a very nice QPR. Nice blackberry and volcanic minerality with green peppercorn. Such a waste. Would have been great to see the farm and vineyard flourish.

December 27, 2014 - Big bright red and dark fruits, but with serious tannin even after being opened for slow ox. I just think the winemaker used to much new oak as some is integrating, but I worry that it will outlast the fruit of 2007. still a good example of classic wA state Syrah, before the over extracted stuff became popular. Wahluke Slope terroir as his is a warm sight almost every year

April 20, 2014 - This had the corked pulled this morning with a pour into the decanter, and then poured back into the bottle. I left the cork off and let the slow ox take place over the next 4-5 hours. The wine is starting to show what its made of as the tannins softened, but were still present as chewy mouth coating but held in check by the acid and hard mineral backbone. Mulberry fruit with blackberries some sandalwood and vanilla from the oak starting to come around and white peppercorns on the nose and showing a little kick after the fruit in the mouth. Great qpr, and again patience as these are built to go another 20 years.

November 27, 2013 - still needs at least another year to reach the prime drinking window. Day 2 was not so bad, but still disjointed. high acids are quite noticeable. Red and black fruits, tannins are chewy. 2007 seems to be the year to hold on to for WA syrah. Drink '09 and some '10 before approaching the '08 and '07. Should be a great qpr in the future. Hopefully I will have the room to keep some of these for their 10 years anniversary.

November 8, 2013 - Staring to have oak integrating and fruit is more of the blackberry style with green and white peppercorn. The oak is showing as vanilla and white chocolate. After about two hours this became very disjointed with acids and tannin getting out of hand. I can't believe that the winery built this for such a long cellar nap. I think it was a bit short sighted, though its becoming a very good wine with more growing and maturing in store. Hard to justify the cellar space for a sub $25 wine though. Very enjoyable in hours 1 and 2.
