March 12, 2021 - shared with pat at selkirk manor. Celebrating covid vaccination and being able to socialize a little more. I continue to prune the cellar with a focus on bottles with expired drink by dates. Fortunately, this wine continues to show well. Deep color. No sign of age. Lots of cherry and spice. Perhaps at its best now. Should have bought more. Will look for recent vintages.

May 10, 2020 - I would agree with Bacchus, even after a few more years in the cellar, this bottle was not over the hill. Screw top; full pinot nose;Montmoreny Cherry on the palate; acid and spice pecan on the finish. Paired nicely with baked salmon and crab meat, asparagus and a chocolate brownie dessert.

November 25, 2016 - shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. chose to open this bottle because a recent note from another member indicated it was over the hill. this bottle proved to be in sound condition. starts off with a racey nose and not much follow through on the palate. after thirty minutes of air, the wine comes alive with robust and voluptuous flavors. spice box enveloped by sour cherry. full in the mouth. benefits from further aeration in the mouth. lingering finish. will wait six months before drinking again.

September 19, 2016 - might have been better a couple of years ago but it's over the hill now.

May 2, 2016 - Nutmeg, rhubarb, cinnamon & sour cherry notes. Cherry and rhubarb with a strong sour quality in the finish.

November 15, 2015 - Last minute Pinot tasting (Kevin's House): Pop and pour. Drank a glass at a tasting. Fruity, lots of spice, bramble, random alcohol. This seemed like a cocktail wine to me, others did not agree with that statement. Slightly candied fruit.

November 14, 2015 - Pinots and Few More (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour. Big, dark fruit, brambly, random hits of alcohol, oak, spicy, sweet berry finish, candied finish. Fairly big for my taste, and a bit too sweet, but a nice wine in general.

October 10, 2015 - Terrific nose ... dead ringer for a premier cru from Beaune or Gevrey-Chambertin. Dark fruits with earth, mushroom and bramble. Not quite as good on the palate as previous bottles, but still enjoyable. Nice intensity and depth, but a bit harsh and just a bit underripe. Lean texture with good structure and nice grip. 91-92

June 3, 2015 - This was simply terrific - as always. Focused, clean, deep, intense flavors of cherry, straw berry, raspberry, earth & bramble. Medium weight with an elegant, balanced mouthfeel that is both lush & silky at the same time. This is not a fruit-bomb, but rather an elegant, balanced wine that is simply one of the finest California pinot's I have ever had. Compares very favorably with the best from the likes of Hansel, Dumol, Williams-Selyem, Marcassin, etc., and very different from the likes of Kosta Brown, Sea Smoke or Belle Glos. It is near its peak, but no rush. 93-94
