March 4, 2020 - 2010 Great White Burgundy Dinner (Eli's Table - New York, NY): Oxidative, while drinkable when first tasted, but not drinkable 20 minutes later.

November 20, 2019 - Side by side the 09. The 10 was noticeably less developed than the (borderline premoxed) 09. Colour was a lot lighter, the wine had a superb freshness and minerality and was possibly a bit leaner than when previously drunk (back then rated 96). Fine notes of white nectarines. Got better and better with extended aeration. Based on this bottle another 2 decades in the tank easy and should hit sweet spot in 5 years. A long term proposition and although the better wine than the 09 the 09 is probably the more enjoyable today. The 10 is maybe not quite that typical Meursault as it isn't quite as fat as some Meursault lovers might want their Meursaults.

August 26, 2019 - Opened and decanted for half an hour. Initially some reduction on the nose which I really loved but this did blow off a bit with time. The nose was quite cool with oyster shells reminiscent of great Chablis and later opening up more generously as the wine warmed up in the glass. Weighty and oily in the glass, nice slightly golden hue. Opened up really well on the palate with air and some temperature - a class act with vanilla, lemon curd, a hint of green apple. A long finish and a wine that balances weight and freshness well and you can’t help to take the next sip and the bottle was gone rather quickly on a hot London summer night sitting at the terrace of La Trompette enjoying the superb tasting menu. A killer Meursault which based on this bottle has entered its early sweet spot but should continue to develop rather nicely for quite some time.

July 21, 2018 - Served blind: lighter than wine 2 (Roulot) and more forward than 1 (Boisson Vadot Chevalieres). This took a lot of time to start expressing itself. As with the whole flight, better when we revisited after 90 minutes. Cotton candy nose, fuller richer in the mouth.

This was the sneakinest wine of the flight, kept building and changing character. All wines got better, this changed character the most. Given that, I'd expect a long future ahead.

March 17, 2018 - Very light, delicate, a wine of finesse rather than power. Not much Meursault character yet. This seems very young for 8 years of age. Unusual for Lafon, but I’m optimistic for the future.
