  October 8, 2023 - This pours medium to light ruby in the glass with no bricking and some flecks of purple. The nose is centred on deep fruit that is quite ripe. Aromas are of blackberry coulis, cassis, ripe plum, animal fur, a touch of black pepper, lacohol, and vague touches of crushed granite. The palate enters on ripe dark fruit with medium tannin, low acid, and a tarry and black fruited finish that shows significant alcohol. All in all I always knew this wine would be big, labelled at 16%. it is dark, rich, and ripe with limited secondary development. Nothing strikes me as overtly overripe, no figs or prunes here, but alcohol, ripeness and extract is high. I wish everything was a little more dialed back.

  August 13, 2022 - Black fruited and spicy, with a fine tannic core. Pushes the edge on ripeness giving this a heavy viscous feel, but pulls back from being over done.
