March 30, 2019 - Greatly enjoyed this Coonawarra Cab. Nose is deep cheery, rustic. Taste is a tart black forest cake. Would benefit from a few more years in the cellar but drinking nicely.
February 25, 2019 - A better bottle. The balance was there, with some classic Coonawarra characteristics - eucalyptus, mint, mocha, blackberry.
January 18, 2019 - Nose of Eucalypt pepper and dark fruit, Rich blackcurrant fruit - a lick of tingling acid - lovely spice and drying oak balanced by the body which doesn't allow the alcohol to poke out- a very impressive wine in the old style and still has plenty of legs
August 26, 2018 - Dark purple. Dark plum, cherry, mocha, menthol, dusty/oak and blackcurrant. Nice medium long length, lacks complexity.
August 13, 2018 - Drinking very nicely 10 years in. Enough fruit and acid to go longer, though a comparative lack of complexity makes one wonder if waiting will bring out more than it is showing now.
June 3, 2018 - Pretty good cabernet. Good cork, deep colour with no real sign that it's 10 years old. Nose developed in the glass, black fruits and some pepper. Beautifully balanced with a hint of mint and no hole in the palate. Great now, will go many more years but not at all sure that it will get any better. Wish I had many more of these.
May 6, 2018 - Pleasant enough cabernet. Nice fruit with blackberry, clove, tobacco, mocca. The acidity is a little sharp, and overall the impression is that the wine is a little imbalanced, but not to the point it is unpleasant. It just stops this being an excellent wine.
October 14, 2017 - Deep purple in colour. Good cork with no offensive odours. Let breath for about one and a half hours. Put it to the taste test in the missus's "Luigi Bormioli" stemless wine glasses. This is good, Good body, red berries & cherries, caramel, nougat, fine tannins, a hint of mint, light acid and excellent length. Still young, corks willing will go another decade. 93+
November 3, 2016 - Not my style of wine this. Too syrupy and fruit driven with little complexity. Tasted blind I could have picked this for an Australian Shiraz. It could easily go another 5 years but on this tasting .... why bother.
February 14, 2015 - There are ripe cassis aromas and flavours along with pleasant floral and sweet tobacco threading through the flavour profile. Underneath the flesh is some baked earth and mineral. This wine has size but good proportion and should live for a decade or two.
