October 8, 2022 - Austere. Mineral driven and no sweetness. After an hour was better

October 12, 2018 - The best 88 Champagnes from 1988 Part 1/3; 10/12/2018-10/13/2018 (Les Crayeres Reims): Blind, Jamesse Synergie Glas, Magnum
It started slowly with few concentration but with time nice decent nuttieness and suprising elegance for a Bollinger R.D. Nicely balanced. maybe a hint too young from this bottle size. 92-93

October 7, 2018 - Second bottle in as many nights with identical showings: good not great, a touch more tired than you’d hope for although the warm, open-knit, slightly oxidative fruit is straightforwardly delicious. Not as sharp as a bottle from the same lot enjoyed in August would was a solid 93. Good, no complaints.

May 6, 2017 - Simply put, the best Champagne I've had. Power, elegance, sexiness. Disgorged 20th May 2003. It even had bubbles!

February 18, 2017 - This Bollinger RD from bottle was quite simply spectacular in every way. I agree that the preservation was amazing. There was a slight release as I tentatively popped the cork. But I did have bubbles! A steady stream of very fine bubbles surged through my glasses. I tasted power and finesse on every sip and taste. The initial mouth feel, mid palate and finish were all powerful and sublime. I realised (helped by my research) that this quite simply is the best vintage year. Second only to some in the 1970's. This was like stepping back in time to when things were done properly. A fabulous bottle and again my provenance was unquestionable in everyway. Thank goodness I have more ....

November 28, 2016 - Dégorgement 1999; this champagne started too old, but with some air the wine grew; tones of old wine, but also a lot of complexity, nutty, some caramel, after 30 minutes the backbone became more recognizable; remains only of bubbles and of course a very golden colour.
