April 6, 2019 - Pretty red fruit scent with a nice floral lift a bit of subtle oak and cement. Crunchy red fruit on the palette. Generous in the mouth with good depth of flavor. Finishes with chalky minerals and a taste of cement. Smooth and silky finish with a bit of oak or stem flavor. Excellent value. Drinking really well at this time.
August 6, 2015 - This was a lovely deep bottle of Bourgueil and sorry that it is my last as this was worth waiting for and it has kept well. It would have been better to keep to the end of the drinking window as it has matured nicely and was very smooth.
January 30, 2015 - I earlier was concerned that I was dragging down the scores for this wine, but the trend has passed my earlier score. So I will say this was a good but not great CF. It was surprisingly smooth, with a reticent aroma. the fruit was more out-front this time, although it came on with a fair bit of oak. Like many French wines, more time in the glass was to its benefit. This wasn't particularly expensive, but CF from the Loire rarely is, and I wouldn't call it a huge bargain, either, especially after Garagiste charges you the random shipping cost. Not a bad choice for your T-day turkey; we had it with a roasted chicken.
January 20, 2015 - Another good Liore example
January 19, 2015 - I agree with prognosis and tasting notes of guitarguy. Not really going anywhere but should hold in there for a couple years.
July 14, 2014 - I did not mind it. Plenty of smoky raspberry notes. Typical Garagiste minerality with a shortish, drying finish. Some lift on nose, blueberry, rock. Probably not going anywhere but down and it's certainly ready now.
February 20, 2014 - Lots of mushroomy soil & dried herbs/tobacco with the tangy-yet-not-bright red fruit. Pretty good.
November 17, 2013 - Very good. Some minerality and earthiness. Not much finish but Loire wines never do (sorry). Nice though
November 4, 2013 - Really liked this. Elegant and flavorful enough without being too green or dirty, yet still has plenty of Loire charm.
November 3, 2013 - First sip, cellar temp, is fruity and tannic. Nice combo out of the gate. Got a little leather or earth or something funky like that as well. Nose is plum and dark cherry with something like rosemary or sage.
With air this is smoothing out nicely and losing some of the initial jammy/medicinal edge. It's still quite fruity, but with nice balance and structure. Great light wine from Garagiste. Not necessarily what I expected, but very tasty. Not sure I get the earth JR went on about, but still a pleasant wine that certainly has the fruity punch he mentioned.
