November 18, 2023 - Elegant expression of the terroir, grilled meat, dark purple fruit, not powerful but lovely. 92-93

April 22, 2023 - "It's the hardest working liver in the galaxy Morty!"; 4/21/2023-4/22/2023 (Indianapolis): I've had this wine a few times before and always loved it, but this was a truly exceptional bottle that outperformed even my high expectations. It conveys the wildest, most feral and meaty elements of Syrah with a finesse and gentleness that really nobody else in the Rhône can pull off for me. Almost seems to float on the palate with barely any sense of weight, despite the amazing palate presence and the intensity of its flavours. One of the best bottles of Verset I've ever had and I'll just hope that some of my remaining bottles of the '00 show similarly in the future.

April 22, 2023 - Indianapolis VI; 4/21/2023-4/22/2023 (Indianapolis, IN): The only thing keeping this from hitting 100 is that I've had the 1985 before. But what an absolutely stunning example of Cornas -- it's honestly quite sui generis; somehow this is a wine that manages to capture the feral quality of the best syrahs (blood, smoke, barbecue, and all that) all the while maintaining incredible lightness and delicacy with its olive brine and savouriness. Like the 1985 Cheval Blanc alongside, a wine that is inordinately delicate and light in texture all the while maintaining so much flavour and complexity. That old phrase of "they don't make 'em like they used to" feels really apt here.

September 10, 2022 - 200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Pirate bottle. Very green and watery wine, good aromatics but too much asparagus, not balanced.

March 20, 2022 - ESTG Northern Rhône: Well this was a treat. Reductive and rubbery at first, mmm, 20 minutes of air did this well, here we go, getting dark and more feral, olive, game, deep black cherry. Fun and wild!
