November 27, 2023 - I won’t be too repetitive - previous notes apply. This is in an amazing place right now. Absolutely delicious, huge fruit, blackberries and cherries, bright acidity, and medium tannins - pretty much hits all the buttons around the palate. Moderate finish with hint of herbs and oak.

April 9, 2020 - Perfect cork. Dark ruby with slight bricking. Decanted 30 minutes and drank over 3 hours. Better than previous bottle only a few months ago. Nose opens with flowers and wood shavings. Midpalate boasts strawberries, pomegranate, and a touch of leather, framed by a sour cherry finish with a bit of oak. More integrated and complex over time. Drink now or over the next 12-18 months with a long-ish decant.

December 18, 2019 - A relief after several consecutive poor bottles of 8-10 year old Chianti. Sweet and sour cherries, smooth body and finish with no rough edges.

May 28, 2019 - Very good Barbera! It needs just a bit of air, maybe 30 minutes or so, to open up and then has a deep, rich fruit nose and palate that perfectly accompanies pizza or hearty red sauce. It is slightly spicy with enough acidity to pair well with food.

April 1, 2019 - Cellared from release. Cork excellent, no staining, 0 to 2 mm seepage. Dark ruby on pour, ruby edges. Perplexing mix of blueberries, raisins and barnyard on the nose, hint of cardamom. Vibrant black cherries on the palette, again with barnyard note (terroir?). Medium tannins, slightly chalky. Well integrated. Medium long finish, ending with oaky note. This may be peaking, but has the acid to go further, and the fruit - but don’t know whether the barnyard May start to dominate. Still have plenty bottles tho - so we will find out.

October 6, 2018 - RT, decanted 1 hour. Moderate debris. Deep purple, Pretty nose with fruit and acid. Tannins rough on initial pour but smoothed out marvelously after the decant and short time in decanter. Medium weight, good acid and balance. Blue/black fruit and some earth. Nice finish. Well liked with tomato/veal pasta. Pretty mature but with acidity should keep going.
