December 15, 2019 - Clear, deep, garnet color with very fine sediment towards the end of the pour into the decanter. (See image of wine in glass next to bottle that I uploaded). The nose is clean with pronounced (and very welcomed) development. Earthy, savoury, some soy and leather. The primary fruits have been completely replaced by these secondary and tertiary aromas. The wine is of course dry, with slightly less than medium acidity - which balances nicely with the remaining hints of red cherry and plums. The tannins are fully integrated and have clearly softened with age. The body and flavour intensity are surprisingly medium, leading to a silky feel to the wine. The finish is somewhat abrupt - but then again I record my tasting notes immediately after opening. Quite a lovely Clos de la Perriere...

December 9, 2018 - Well aged Burgundy!! Did take 30-45 min to open up. Strawberry, raspberry on the nose, earthy, mushrooms, flowers, coffee, spices. Medium body, smooth, medium acid, tannins well integrated. Lots of red fruit on the palate, chocolate, black pepper. Medium finish. Ready to drink now, probably has only few years left

September 13, 2014 - PHMG WAG: Tour de France 2014 (Chateau Lyon): I was hoping not to like this and have another excuse to stick with our homegrown PN. Damn! It has a open nose of mixed red and black fruit, baking spices, and earth. Lovely silky texture and balance. Not light or elegant, but those aren't my favorite PN's. This is surprisingly rich for an 11 y/o wine, still has 5 yrs if the provenance was like this one.

May 18, 2014 - Ruby color with garnet rim. Lots of licorice and earth on the nose, along with black cherry, currant, blackberry, cloves, leather. Medium+ body, high acidity, medium tannins (soft and chewy). Medium+ finish. Decent complexity, nice texture, good structure and balance. But nothing that wows you....Still, a very nice drink. I would guess it has several good years left, at least.

March 30, 2014 - Ripe fruit up front, some earth, but not much depth. Not as elegant as others from 03.
