March 20, 2024 - Wonderful with a slab of wagu and green salad. Keeping up really well...but at final plateau. Would not wait for more. Vanilla, viola and cassis on the nose. A touch of fig....sigarbox (cidar). just lovely 😍

December 15, 2023 - From MAG! Nice claret, top matured. Give em at least a 2h decant and you“ll get awarded. Beautiful integrated forrest floor, red berries and smooth tannins, not very complex. Medium bodied with acceptable finish. Good wine. 90-92

November 26, 2023 - cheers - bootle 5 of 6....perhaps the best one yet, although prime window was at about 2 hours after open

May 27, 2023 - The 1995 Talbot was a treat to watch unfold over dinner. Immediately showing a nose characterized by the distinctive leather qualities I’ve come to love with mature Talbot (as well hints of tobacco as well), the palette opened up to notes of red cherries, cassis, licorice and that aforementioned leather. The hint of vanilla that came in on the long finish with a treat, aiding a silky wine with now smoothed out tannins. This is yet another wine from 1995 I’ve found is showing really well right now.

February 3, 2023 - Talbot is a wine I don't buy too often, but drinking this makes me wonder why. It's not on the level of the Ducru Beaucaillou in '95, but it's not far away. Has the powerful but rather austere nose of its siblings, but with a taste to match. A very complete wine, but with a lot more to give.

Lots of people writing off the 1995s right now, so it's a good time to be buying them. I will definitely be getting more of this.

(Château Talbot) Subtle berry, mint and herbaceous nose; very tasty, nice herbaceous fruit and a little coffee, with good grip; medium finish
