January 6, 2019 - Not decanted, but first glasses poured out ~30 minutes before consuming. Garnet with some moderate bricking. Lovely mature notes of tobacco, mild dried cherry, roast meat, and something vaguely floral. Mellow structure but still a bit of acidity. Drinking very nicely now for my palate, and it may have a few years ahead yet, assuming decent storage.

September 1, 2018 - You guys really helped me out on this one. I’m going through bottles I let sit too long and this was one I tried after your reviews. It’s still really good.
Not much tannin but good acidity and a good old world wine.
My last one. I wish I had more.

July 29, 2017 - I gotta go with Nekodab's last review. WOW got lost in the cellar with all the others and forgot to get to it. This was a testament to what can happen with a well stored bottle of nice Sangiovese. Lovely older wine with just a slight bricking great dark ruby color cork was perfect and had that old but really unique old style. Totally smooth even the better half enjoyed who tends to lean new world. I see many still have. I can't call whether you should drink up or not but I would knowing it's still holding up beyond the "2009 drinking window". What a treat to have a 20 year old bottle like this. Thanks Kate

November 5, 2007 - A very nice mature super-tuscan, that has improved significantly since last tasted in January. wonderful nose of violets, earth, and baked cherries. Very smooth on the palate, with supple acidity. Tannins are starting to fade, so drink up. Paired well with a porcini-crusted filet mignon.

January 1, 2007 - Purchased on release for $39. This wine is 100% Sangiovese Grosso. Maroon color, with bricking on the edges. Very smooth, with leathery black cherry fruit shaded with baking chocolate notes. tannins and acidity are fading, leading to a flat finish and underperforminance with its steak pairing. But on its own, its a pleasant bottle. Drink up.

February 20, 2003 - This 100% Sangiovese wine was not drinking as well as the Coltibuono. It had a compost smell. It was also medium bodied but the flavors came off as thin. Notes of cherry and dark berry. 87 points.
