December 15, 2017 - Very nice and complex Merlot. Had aromatic notes of cedar and plum and possbily light notes of eucalyptus. Palate was simply delicious, complex with dark berries and plum, hints of spice, little to no cedar or oak, well balanced. Light on the tannins, but I don't expect a Merlot to have heavy tannins. Finish is smooth and moderate, no alcoholic heat or astringency. Was very pleasantly surprised! Seems like the wine really needs to age more than 3-4 years to come into its own.

June 28, 2016 - Very nice right now, dark mellow fruit no heat and resolved tannin's. Great mouth-feel with a medium finish.

May 15, 2015 - Reading some of the older tasting notes, I think this wine was not ready to drink earlier. We did not experience any of the over-extracted, hot alcohol that other reviews mentioned.

The wine is dark! Rich with good dark berry fruit, lots of structure. Could last longer, but ready to drink now. It is more complex that many Merlots that California wine makers are making. But we like that complexity! Reminded me of a Petite Sirah.

March 2, 2014 - Caton style- big fruit and tannins. Lots of oak and slight heat. Nikki loved it!
