October 28, 2017 - Cork saturated all the way around between 30-60% up the side. Some mild staining on top of cork where it seeped all the way up the center.
Thankfully the wine itself is still delicious and only showing minor hints of oxidation. Fruit is still surprisingly in front with cherry, strawberry and raspberry that become less prominent yet still persist through the finish.
Leather on the mid-palate with some earthiness and bramble. Starts out with a juicy mouthfeel then the leather notes help introduce some light, velvety tannins. Pleasant, medium finish incorporating all of the above elements.

March 25, 2016 - Still drinking very nicely. Fruit forward with juicy strawberry/cherry nose and palate. Not a remarkable wine, exactly, but remarkably well balanced - which is Peter's trademark.
The various components; fruit, spice, oak, tannins, acidity, body, finish, etc. work synergistically to create a wine that is even better than the sum of its parts. Outstanding value.

September 2, 2015 - Has integrated well some nice complexity, but I expect it is near its prime or on it.
For me, still finding the strawberry and leather with a little hint of tobacco or eart on nose.
Still needs to open up a little in the glass otherwise it comes across with some heat (alcohol).
Medium bodied, dried cherries, black pepper, a hint of tobacco well integrated tannins, and a slightly sweet medium length finish. There is some good acidity to help balance things for the finish, nice end to a run of bottles.

September 19, 2014 - Some nice complexity, but pushing the boundaries of ripeness. Black cherry, leather, cocoa, tobacco and granite in the nose. A little jammy and a bit boozy on the palate, but at least there's some good acidity to help balance things out a bit. Would be a bit better had it been picked a bit earlier.

September 14, 2013 - Hard to fault this wine: pristine vineyard; purity of fruit; true expression of the varietal; QPR.

June 7, 2013 - A really nice drinking zin. Wish I had more. Good nose and fruit without being an over the top fruit bomb.

February 22, 2013 - had good underlying fruit of cherry and red berry but was too acidic. no oak. which is unusual because this is unlike some of the other wellington zins i've had
