October 14, 2018 - Big red and black fruit up front, pepper and spice, more oak than I remembered, good and well integrated tannin on the finish. Good mouthfeel. "Lots of every element".

October 10, 2018 - Poured from a 3 litre, decanted and drank over the course of 3 hours. Dark garnet with a nose of stewed prunes. On the palate, this was pretty solid but just a tad bit past it's prime. Two years ago this was probably fantastic. Still enough fruit was present and the finish was long and spicy. This paired beautifully with spicy sausage and pablano peppers and rigatoni with gorgonzola dolce.

August 18, 2018 - Deep garnet, cherry brown rim.

Nose: Black cherry, raspberry jam, fig, cedar, warm oak. Medium-light projection, strong note of alcohol felt on the back of the nose.

Mouth: Jammy blackberry, stewed cherry, prune, and some vanilla slide across the palate, before quickly drying out. Smooth and light, with dried red flower on the drydown. Very faint tannins left over, just clinging to life. Another year in the bottle and I wonder if I would have known they were ever there.

Overall: Aged about 10 years at this point, there's a lightness on the palate that's unique to have experienced, but I think it's a bit too old here. Any liveliness it once had is gone. Remaining flavors are all beautifully integrated with each other, there's just not quite the explosive fullness left of an original Zin blend.

    46% Zinfandel, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Petite Sirah, 12% Syrah, 2% Charbon.

    90.

June 2, 2018 - 30m double decant. Dark and brooding, hot on the nose, oak, hint of brambles. Super dark and concentrated zin, great long finish. Missing the fruit in the midpalate that I remember in earlier bottles. Lacking some of the oomph that it had years ago and on the decline, drink now.
