July 18, 2019 - Quite nice actually. Less over the top than many syrahs from California. Lasted well over three day. Only bottle. Too bad--would really like a few more.

November 1, 2016 - Excellent Syrah that is drinking very well right now.

December 16, 2014 - Succulent, big juicy syrah with a great nose, beautiful color and layers of complexity, structure and complexity that makes this syrah at least a 93 pointer! Wow, wish I had more; it's ready to drink now and you won't be disappointed!

May 17, 2014 - Decanted through vinturi and let sit for two hours, purple in the glass, the nose was dark fruit, the palate was dark berries, plums, leather and spices, a nice finish.

July 22, 2013 - Edit: I had half a bottle remaining; kept in a 375 in the refrigerator for two days. A completely different wine. Perfume aromas, balanced black fruit and smokey tar with a flavorful, long finish. Excellent.

    original note:
for me this wine seems as if the fruit is too ripe to the point of being brown. I opened this bottle after a similar showing earlier in the month. Not my style. Along with the fruit the wine also showed some interesting aromas of cured meats and smokiness. long drying finish. The winery notes that they left the fruit hanging longer than typical in 2009. perhaps I opened it too early in its life.

(Waters Winery Loess Syrah Walla Walla Valley) Rises up from the glass with smoke, floral notes, brambly fruit, iron, and orange peel. The palate has great depth and intensity with a rounded feel and bright acidity. As good a Loess vineyard Syrah as the winery has made. 90% Syrah, 10% Viognier. Aged in second fill French oak. 14.1% alcohol. 190 cases produced.
