November 4, 2020 - It's fun to read the latest notes, from 4 years ago. Opened yesterday, I was hoping this wine would continue to mature and I haven't been disappointed. A ruby brick color now, very delightful nose of sherried plums and sweet cedar, the black fruit dominates, with blackberries, cassis and black raspberry, plum and tobacco box. Very long finish. I'm not even certain it's at its peak yet! Quite enjoyable.

February 25, 2016 - PNP. Deep Purple with brownish tones and moving to mahogany on the rim. Clearly showing the age. Barely limpid. Bouquet is intense and beautiful. Dark fruit. Blackbery and plum. Hints of Vanilla and toffee. Slightly perfumed. Just really beautiful to sit and sniff.

Palate is showing it's age and mature or it needs to aerate right now. Follows the bouquet but where the bouquet is at it's peak, I think the fruit is just beginning to fade or needs to open up. Going to let it develop and aerate to see if it builds. Palate adds a hint of anise. Concentrates on the mid and back palate. Firm and slightly lingering finish that stays together nicely. Wine is elegantly styled and not a big fruit or big tannic in your face cab. More a CA take on a bordeaux style so my scoring is in that context as I believe that to be the inteded style by the winemaker.

Medium + alcohol. Medium plus tannins/acidity. Nicely balanced and fruit is definitely evening out with oxidations. Suggests wine is actually at peak.

September 2, 2013 - Slightly improved from my last visit. Totally decent, just not very interesting.

June 2, 2013 - dark fruit with drying tannis, deep dark color with clear edges. needs at least 2 hrs to open up.

May 19, 2013 - A decent cab, evolved slightly over 48 hours after opening, which suggests it still has a few years of life in it. Fruit and alcohol on the nose, dark fruit on the palate, pleasant tannins, medium+ finish. Nothing terribly interesting, but not bad either.
