August 14, 2023 - 14 years old and still remarkably consistent. Wish I had a few more bottles of this.

January 22, 2023 - Simply put, this is drinking beautifully and cannot imagine it improving from here. From the wonderful nose to the full mouth feel everything is a beautiful symphony of not over the top California Pinot.

December 18, 2019 - Pop and pour. Aromas of smoke, dried cherry, dried strawberry and root vegetables. Flavors of dried cherry, strawberry, clove and touch of root beer. Ends with a long finish of 35 seconds with notes of clove and dried cherry. Drinking very well right now.

February 24, 2018 - Took a glass using my Coravin dispenser. A nice RRV Pinot that drinks on the heavy end of the spectrum. Goes well with aged cheese and cured meats.

Update May 23/18: pulled the cork on this last night to finish off the bottle 1 month after pouring another couple of glasses from Coravin. With these last 2 experiences we found that giving it some time to breath really helped, giving a much better tasting. Or could it be bottle variation ? (top to bottom). Haha. But seriously, it’s great to be able to enjoy a bottle over a 3 month period like this. Helps stretch the wine cellar.

October 15, 2017 - just a tad past prime as it lacks the acidity to push this into higher territory - but the ingredients are there - sweet cranberry, asian spices, fuller body - this is a more masculine pinot...

September 7, 2017 - Pnp - loved this style of wine back when I was on the list and purchased these, but currently find this big, lush, dark fruited style of pinot too heavy. Dark color, black fruits coexisting with the red fruits - perhaps a touch of syrah blended in here?? On the palate the fruit is married with some acidity, so balance is there but the wine drinks heavy for me. Again our guests really enjoyed this one, so I think it all depends on your preferred style.

July 18, 2017 - Nose of dark cherry, blackberry and cedar. Very complex on the palate, with prunes, leather, forest floor and stony flavors added to the mix. Nice mouthfeel. Tannins still evident - seems like this has many years of life left in it. Finish slightly marred by alcohol heat, but otherwise this is a classic RRV Pinot.

February 4, 2017 - Decanted for an hour before service. In the glass, dark violet-red. On the nose, muted aromatics of nutmeg and crushed stone fruit. On the palate, black cherries, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a slightly reductive note of prunes, with an unctuous smooth texture and a long finish. If you like your RRVs, you'll love this one.
