October 30, 2012 - This tasted more spatlese than kabinett. Acidity was lively but the palate seemed heavy. Still a good value for $16.

September 17, 2012 - (10.5%) From the Rheingau this starts dark and golden. Weighty on the palate. Concentrated (warm lemon) almost fringing on syrupy with the sweetness. Lacks the acidity and (airy) freshness I crave. Not bad at ($17) but not what I was hoping for. This one is more Auslese like. Wouldn’t buy again as my preferred drinking window (if it was ever there) has passed.

July 29, 2012 - Might be a little sweet for a kabinett but still likeable. Fruit very bright and young tasting.

July 28, 2012 - OC4PokerXIV: Alsace vs Germany (and dinner) (Wine Cellar Club, Irvine, CA): PnP served non-blind at a CT offline. Aromas are slightly better than the palate, but only just. This seems to have lost some of its freshness and in its place, a bit of weight around the mid-section. Seems to be tiring, which slightly amplifies the r/s to the point that its just not singing. Could be a one-off bottle issue, or could be representative of the bottling as a whole. Not bad by any means, but not great either.

November 30, 2011 - What the hell was going on in Germany this year? It tasted like a Auslese from a warmer year! Was not carrying its sugar well AT ALL. Very perfumed nose that promised far more than it could deliver. Unbalanced and overly sweet. Very poor QPR.
