May 3, 2014 - It's not lost that strong caramel-creosote element to the nose. Better on the palate, but definitely mars the wine for me.

July 1, 2012 - Wow! What a difference a couple of degrees makes. Pop 'n pour from the fridge and I was thinking 87, 88 tops (simple crispy Chablis). After a short time in the glass, we've got cream, lime zest, and hazelnuts on the nose. There's a tangy lemon, lime body, fleshy mid palate of hazelnuts, and hint of herbs. Goin' back to Meritage to buy some more!

February 11, 2012 - Well received by a group of friends when I opened this. Exotic spices and hazelnut on the nose. Crisp Chablis like linearity. Lemon based flavors along with hazelnut. Good texture with an almost oily like feeling.

February 10, 2012 - Intriguing, captivating, scandalous! Ok, it really isn't those things but this stood out in a recent local shop tasting. People either loved it or hated it and you can guess from my score where I stand. Interesting and extremely complex nose: asian spices, cumin?, hazelnut. Tangy citrus body along with green apple and more toasty hazelnuts. Intense and light at the same time, delicious.

January 21, 2012 - Bright , pale straw colour tending to watery at the rim.

Reasonably vibrant on the nose with butter, but also smoky toffee & rambutan (and very slightly creosoty). Swirling reveals a little lemon.

More attractive balance to the flavours on the palate, but that hint of creosote can be distracting even though it does add complexity. Texturally, it's fuller in body than expected, whilst the acidity is nicely refreshing. Overall a surprisingly challenging wine and one that probably needs a fairly precise food match to show it in the best light.
