January 20, 2024 - Rubber mat, soil, camomile, espresso, cedar, lovely humidor notes, chocolate-hazelnut, ever changing multifaceted nose. Great mouthfeel and good length!

September 4, 2023 - The best part of the experience is the silky, velvety texture that you find with its wealth of red and black plums, cocoa, truffle, and spice. The strong sensation of flowers on the front end is the perfect introduction to the wine. Fully mature, there is no reason or sense to keep holding it, plus, it is so good, you need to experience it. Drink from 2023-2034.

July 3, 2023 - Fresh and floral with incredible freshness on the palate. Still preferred the 70 Vega nevertheless.

June 9, 2023 - A pre-50 pre Birthday Celebration; 6/9/2023-6/11/2023 (Around Zurich Area): Sourced pristine from the impeccable cellar of Sonne Seuzach , Switzerland . We debated long between this and the 1975 but as the level was in neck for this we said 1970.
A magnificent wine and at times reminded us of a Syrah ( blind we would have said 1980s Guigal La Landonne) with soft meaty and smoky edge. Healthy and lively albeit the age shows. Dark coloured , dark fruited and with a singing nose. A masterclass of a wine and an easy 98 and frankly with another 20 years of life.

February 11, 2023 - Great filll for the age. Just at the base of the neck. Cork solid albeit soft. Wine had soaked through 90% but still sealed.

What a beautiful wine! Some bricking but would call 80s.

Eucalyptus and mint in the nose. Smoke. Tobacco. Chocolate. Just incredible.

December 18, 2022 - Tasted blind, this wine had a red/purple center with red rims. The moderate+ intensity nose was a bit dark and brooding. It generated black cherries, oranges, minerals, mocha, and tan spice notes.

In the mouth, this wine was refined but had a gorgeous texture, great balance, and huge acidity and length.

While this is drinking now with extended time in a decanter, it should last 20-30 years in the cellar. However, I don't get the sense it will improve.

June 14, 2022 - A Trio of Petrus: A bottle that literally spoke to us (sorry to be so spiritual). Eucalyptus, earth, sensuality, this was a trip down memory lane for bdx lovers.

April 29, 2022 - Had this a few weeks ago out of a 3L and that format showed just a touch more depth and nuance. Yet this was a perfect bottle of this fully mature Petrus with an old-world style to it. Very layered and plush with a deep core of faded black fruit and I love the way it just flows over the tongue with great smoothness and complexity. There are notes of charcoal, minerals and truffles on the endless finish. Very ready to go out of any format. L'Appart Commanderie dinner.
