February 2, 2022 - Had bottles in back to back nights with a similar profile across both evenings. Quite primary fruits, some bacon fat and black olives. Fair amount of tannins but not overtly tannic its just they are more prevalent than the acids. Second bottle had some alcohol creep through I didn't experience on the first. Was missing some of the pepper I enjoy on the Cabot syrahs.

January 15, 2022 - Wonderful over two evenings with dinner. Beautiful flavors and aromas of bacon fat, olives, deep fruit. Good acidity, almost resolved tannins, and well balanced. This could go a few more years. We loved it.

September 24, 2021 - Decanted off the sediment, there was a sign if any amount. We lost maybe 1/3 of a glass to sludge, admittedly I manhandled the bottle from the cellar to the kitchen.

Pours a dark and brooding color. This is a big wine. High alcohol and lots of fruit stuffed in. There is a tannic streak that helps cut through the alcohol, but not much of an acidic backbone as I’d have hoped. On in the mouth, cherry, cocoa nibs, toasted earth, just an ever so slight hint of bacon fat. All in all a positive vibe from this wine.

    NOSE: dark; concentrated grape soda

BODY: dark violet color of great depth; medium-full bodied.

TASTE: gently tannic; oak; very soft; low acid; labelled at 15.3%, and it does come across as big; fruits are dark and primary; good, but not my preferred style. Drink Now.
