  • PDXWineO Does not like this wine:

December 22, 2022 - Flawed. Possibly due to improper storage but it was not corked.

March 4, 2022 - Still an amazing bottle that I just can’t believe is 13 years old. Those bright red fruits, the minerality, the acidity. Smidge of dirt. An addictive red that reminds me of a brilliant Bourgogne. It fell apart a bit on day 2, so I'd definitely buy another well-cellared bottle if I had the chance, but I'd drink it soon.

November 27, 2020 - Bought this from the library offering, and it was very alive and well. Could easily spend more time in the cellar. On the first day, a bit muted. Had the trademark Brittan acidity, but couldn't feel the OR dirt or fruit. However, on day two, knocked my socks off with perfect balance of bright cherry and ripe strawberry, OR underbrush, a bit of herby oregano, and great minerality. Probably would have been fine on day 1 with a more aggressive decant upon opening.

November 26, 2020 - The Gestalt vineyard is amazing. This wine epitomizes the best of the McMinnville AVA. If you like the deep mineral flavors with a little smoke and slate then this is your Pinot. And if you don’t, that’s fine too. Grab your fruit forward Pinots and leave these for those of us who love them!

December 6, 2019 - Big, rich, dark and juicy, this could be enjoyed on its own but went well w/gas-grilled beef loin steak, baby green salad, and herbed rice pilaf. Nose of dark fruits, subtle and well-integrated oak, rich juicy midpalate of blackberries, pomegranate-ending in a medium but satisfying finish. Good stuff for a ripe vintage that held up well in the cellar.
