June 23, 2017 - Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner (Château de Meursault): Perfect color and fill, this bottle was recorked at the Château in 2014. Powerful and mature black cherry and plum with concentration and layers of unfolding flavors. Rockstar complexity.

December 2, 2016 - Twelfth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): Bottle with 6 cm ullage. Another bottle with a similar fill was fantastic earlier this year, but not tonight's. Rich black fruit with good concentration, but a shorter finish and slightly tired ending.

August 5, 2016 - A Few Wines with BBQ (Bannockburn, IL): Ullage 3-3.5 cm. Popped and poured. Mature black fruit with slightly sweet notes of age, but I'd never have thought this 50+ yo if served blind. I think this was almost everybody's WOTN. Exactly what you want in an old Burg.

March 5, 2016 - La Paulée de San Francisco - Gala Dinner (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): I brought this to La Paulee because Francois Labet (from Chateau de la Tour in Vougeot) was attending and this wine was made by his grandfather. Ullage was 5-5.5 cm but color quite dark. Roll the dice? Success! Sweet and intense black fruit with great concentration and super charming reduced mushroom notes. Maybe I am overrating the wine because of its age, but I had so much fun with it in general, particularly serving it to M. Labet.

November 8, 2011 - A lovely wine with an interesting orange peel nose and lovely density, so typical of the vintage. Amazing for a 1er cru!
