September 19, 2021 - At its full peak of maturity, now you find a medium-bodied, soft, round wine loaded with sweet cherries, thyme, wet earth, truffle, and mocha. There is no reason to hold this any longer as I suspect the wine will slowly decline from here.
January 20, 2019 - Loads and loads of ripe plum and rich chocolate souffle with touches of violet and mineral. The mineral really comes through on the palate. A little simple perhaps, but a real win for under $50.
February 19, 2013 - Similar notes to before. A Bordeaux that is drinking pretty well right now.
November 12, 2011 - The lovely Bordeaux nose and ruby red colour. Good structure, sour cherries with a bit of dark berries. Some secondary flavours of mushrooms and a bit of leather starting to develop. Tannins are resolved and drinking smoothly now. My second bottle and an excellent wine. Still have some years in it with secondary and tertiary developments to come.
June 6, 2011 - Did not decant. Smooth and well balanced.
October 1, 2010 - Decanted for a couple of hours. I'm still not seeing the charm that others are seeing in this wine. It has a little more flavor than the last bottle that I had, but this bottle has some sourness that is somewhat off putting. Without that, I'd like it more.
June 14, 2010 - Earthy nose with hints of dark fruit. Very well balanced and subdued tannins. Nice finish.
October 27, 2009 - drinking very nice - outshone the 1996 Rol Valentin. Like other TNs, silky smooth and with a caressing finish. Lovely Bordeaux
June 15, 2009 - Everything you look for in right bank bordeaux is in this bottle. Drinking beautifully now-silky smooth and balanced.
April 27, 2009 - Decanted for about 30 minutes. Sipped immediately out of the bottle and was surprised already by the aromas and taste. Poured from the decanter and the wine came alive. It was smooth and complex. The tannins present were very mellow and muted. This wine is drinking fantastic right now.
