May 28, 2023 - Still has vibrant fruit. Fully integrated, showing tertiary notes. A hint of dryness on the finish but not much. Great wine, excellent QPR

April 9, 2020 - Amazing. As a zin should be...plenty of rich fruit, but not a bomb. And no hint of the 15% abv. This is why you cellar wine. Just wish I had more.

February 21, 2014 - nice enough at first, but fell apart fairly quickly. Completely dead the next day. If you have any of these, drink em up.

July 4, 2013 - I thought this was quite good for an older Zinfandel. Classic bricking color with nose of red fruit and cedar. Tannins still holding on but mostly resolved. Could go for another few years

March 4, 2011 - Sorry, no detailed notes. Color was Garnet w a bit of brownish tinge. On the nose some fruit flavor - strawberry. On the palate we got the fruit with medium tannins. Decent acidity too. Very enjoyable - not over the hill but approaching the ridgeline.

February 22, 2011 - Riddled with ethyl acetate. Sad to see such a good wine go bad.

November 26, 2009 - Surprisingly still magenta in color. Very tight with the mature briary fruit overpowered my a massive structure. Probably past its prime as I don't think the fruit will outlast the tannins. This needs a big marbled steak to tame it.

February 3, 2008 - This Old Hill is over the hill for sure. VA blows off, but the chlorinated and otherwise empty nose that remains brings little pleasure. Mostly innocuous in the mouth, although there is some surprisingly stiff tannin at the end that is welcome if only because it provides some interest.

November 20, 2005 - Still drinking well. Tanins are smoothing out.

April 22, 2000 - Touch of herbs, dust, chalk, dark fruit, on the nose, nice fruit, powerful fruit, rich fruit, long, long finish, needs 5 years.
In those days, this was my go to Zinfandel in the cellar for power and flavor. My #1 of 7.
