May 29, 2015 - Still retains a healthy fruit-forward presence. Well balanced and enjoyable. Mellow to little tannins and not much oak.

June 8, 2012 - Not more fruit forward compared to the 2008. Rob Lawson is the wine maker, he also made Pahlmeyer and Kapcsandy but don't believe anyone who tells you this wine is in the same league. The Fisticuffs is very fruit and oak forward designed to wow the new world lovers. It however fails in balance and integration. You can expect a knockout of ripe cherries and vanilla. There is also hints of celery seeds and some tobacco but they are so light and disjointed from the fruit that it's hard to make them out.
New world cab lovers will like this. Otherwise it's another punchy wine.
Remember you don't drink the label.
