May 3, 2020 - Now a full gold in appearance, this wine still (
given a good hour's aeration,) displays a cornucopia of gentle, intriguing aromas - hints of white flowers, ripe apricots, q uince, honeydew melon dusted with ginger, ripe banana , orange , and almond. A rich creamy mouth feel with a dry finish , giving flavours of dried apricots and spicy stem ginger, and banana fritter(!). Almost over the hill , but a fascinating example of mature Condrieu , from an impeccable source. Drink up !

August 18, 2018 - Consistent with previous note although I found this more balanced but that could also be that it was paired with food to match this time.
Would be interesting to see where this goes in 5 years time. Will save my last bottle...

April 11, 2018 - Not a classic Condrieu nose, oddly. Much more like a Tokaji - peaches, limes, marmalade. Dried apricots, pine nuts, cream, banana even. Lovely and charming. Ageworthy, for sure.

December 25, 2013 - Very interesting. Very rich if somewhat drier than I remembered from the J&B tasting.
Evolves beautifully over the course of two hours. Best result in the second hour (at a temperature of about 10-13C+).
Immediately after opening, very interesting nose of prickly pears (cactus fruit), honey/floral and some hints of stone fruits and mandarines. However, it needs to warm up and breath for a while.
At 45 min, we also get aromas of melons, nectarine, and lemon zest/ cake. Citrusy palate. A rich, fresh, and precise wine. Don't drink it too cold... give it the respect it deserves and watch it evolve.
Certainly one of my favourite Viogniers. Ready now but will be interesting to see where it's going to be next year. I suspect it is best to drink it by 2014.
On the second day - not as refreshing or bright. Some herbal notes (tarragon?) appear. Strongly prefer the first evening.

November 18, 2013 - [J&B Rhone tasting] Favourite white wine this evening. Very ripe but this does not obscure the depth and precision of this remarkable wine. 92-93.

June 30, 2013 - Lovely floral and lychee aromas. Slightly perfumed on the nose.
Full bodied but hard to pin down taste, one of my first quality viognier wines. Well balanced (maybe a bit too much alcohol on the taste) , like it a lot! Not as good as I remember from the J&B tasting.

June 13, 2013 - Initially pretty closed. Aggressive swirling and 20 minutes opened up bouquet of pear skin, candied grapefruit, green almonds and and honey. Racy acidity that keeped everything fresh and the mid-palate filled out unlike so many lesser Viogniers.
