December 15, 2023 - Good, but I expected better given the vintage. Flavors overall seem muted and lacking complexity. Black pepper and olive predominate over fruit. Tasted over two nights with consistent notes.

August 21, 2021 - Very good n Rhône Syrah..this wine favors the black pepper, olive tapenade, Forest floor, over the fruit….
The red blue fruit is there but def under the other flavors…finishes with a notable salty olive mineral finish that persists for quite some time….
Fans of classic hermitage will dig this big boy….
Prime time now but I think this has many many years to go in the cellar..

December 21, 2019 - Tastes like a Hermitage that migrated from the northern to the southern Rhone so it could bulk up. About as dark and powerful as a Hermitage gets. Juicy, fragrant and pleasurable, once you recover from the impact.

January 31, 2019 - Exceptional value . Mouth watering juiciness . Intense dark red fruits , violets and forest floor funk. Volouptuous if I could use only one word. It's a steal at the price.

May 20, 2017 - PnP at the Hermitage Hill: Wow! Of course slightly biased as we opened this right in Hermitage by the hill but really amazing nose and an equally full mouth. Very raw Syrah, no make-up, nothing out of place.

May 16, 2017 - Young, powerful, intense, quite tannic, full bodied, concentrated and not ready for prime time drinking for at least a decade, or longer. Still, it's hard to miss the earthy, dark, red, fruit, crushed rock, olive, forest leaf, and peppery essence that comes out with effort.

March 15, 2017 - Northern Rhone Blind Tasting: WOTF. Clear, black-garnet color. Dark and savory aromas- tapenade, marinading meat, sagebrush, violets, with black cherry fruit, carrying through to the palate, with added tea leaf and spice notes and black currant fruit. Rich and silky throughout the palate. Medium acid and well-framed structure, finishing with fine and silky tannins, excellent depth of flavor, and good length. Excellent overall.
