April 2, 2020 - No reason to keep these any longer. Not unpleasant and no rough edges but no outstanding characteristics to speak of.

November 1, 2013 - More mature than my last bottle 2 years ago, but probably not any better. A little uneven, but enjoyable. Tobacco, smoke, anise. A touch boozy.

November 16, 2012 - Similar notes to previous, popped and poured with dinner. The fruit now shines through as the oak has faded to the background. This is silky on the palate with a medium long finish.

September 14, 2012 - Black currant nose - almost raisiny; a whiff of smoke. Still a bit tight, but nicely balanced with fine acidity and a sweet, ripe, black fruit core of blackberries, currants, black cherries, black plum, and cassis, Secondary notes of tar, graphite, and black tea. A touch of rosemary laces the coffee finish. Good length.

April 28, 2012 - Tasted blind, I thought this was a California Pinot-syrupy, cola aspect, sweet fruit, noticeable alcohol. Would never have guessed Syrah.

March 18, 2012 - Not decanted, consumed over ~1 hour. Medium bodied with mixed red & black berry notes and prominent oak on nose and palate - a bit more than the fruit could handle, unfortunately. Not as badly overoaked (overtoasted?) as one or two other bottles I've had recently, but still enough to lead to some disappointment in an otherwise nice little syrah. Maybe some air will help with the other one.

February 25, 2012 - Full bodied, smooth mouthfeel with mix of red and dark berries, some vanilla sweetness initially but pepper and oak on the finish. Decent acidity and subtle tannins. Similiar to a CDP or Gigondas. Good value for $15. This may be the first "Biodynamic" wine I have enjoyed.

September 24, 2011 - Nose: white pepper, new car leather smell, beef jerky, camp fire, pine, warm spices. Taste: Lot of beef jerky and peppercorn, sweet prune, pine needle, eucalyptus notes, soft chewy tannin, and mocha notes. Very dry saturated black tea finish. Medium body and relatively smooth body. It gives a strange holiday like Christmas feel to it. Reminds me of spice wine and Christmas treats. Rustic feel that will be great with rustic food on a patio.
