  January 27, 2021 - Time was kind to this bottle! The fruit has surely mellowed a bit, but the nose is still fresh and floral. And the mouthfeel is so silky.

  Nose: Bright and fresh, with high-toned red-fruit aromas of raspberry and cranberry alongside vibrant just-picked roses and sweet spice. Though the bouquet is mostly primary, there is a hint of crushed-gravel stoniness as well as an undercurrent of slightly earthy/leathery spine. Not complex; this is all about purity and freshness.
  
  Mouthfeel: Light-bodied and weightless.
  
  Palate: Interesting---again, like the nose, not at all complex. Mostly you get juicy strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry fruitiness, a dusting of sweet spices, and fresh, zippy acid, and then it's gone, leaving behind some of that gravelly mineral and bright, tart berry that resonates like a soprano's vibrato. It's such a well crafted, seamless presentation---simple, yet perfectly shaped.
  
  This was delicious. I can't imagine a better picnic or summer-evening red. Serve with a slight chill, around cellar temperature, and let yourself appreciate how enjoyable simple wine can be when it's made with impeccable style, perfect technique, and honesty. One thing to note: I suspect Mr. Brun relies more on CO2 than SO2 for preservation, as the aromas and flavors of my first sniffs and sips seemed attenuated and a bit gassy. If you want to knock this out all at once, feel free to decant. Otherwise, just give each new glass some vigorous swirling and you'll be in business. It's nothing major and totally worth it because this wine is so fresh-seeming that it could be straight from the barrel. Sadly, it will be gone before you know it.
