February 19, 2024 - Color is a dark honey, almost caramel. Still alive and vibrant, everyone liked it and it went well with a pear tart dessert. Drink sooner rather than later.

October 3, 2021 - The 1995 Clos Sainte Catherine is showing really well today though I suspect there is additional upside with continued cellaring. The pluot, apricot, mushroom nose is really a delight of mature Chenin Blanc. It’s just honeyed enough to provide an appeal as dessert in its own right. The 96 seems to edge it out at the moment but it should be a long race.

July 3, 2021 - Honeyed apricot, in a lighter, moderately sweetish package. Very nice.

July 2, 2021 - After a number of bottles of wine, the table popped this dessert wine. I found this bottle to be a real stunner. Chenin Blanc-- light orange marmalade, apricot, light, crisp. Super way to finish a nice dinner!

November 23, 2016 - 10th and 11th bottles of a case opened with crowd pleasing results. Apricot, orange marmalade and honked notes without being cloying. More complex in the mouth than many Sauternes that are much more expensive. Will look forward to the last bottle.

September 24, 2016 - Beautiful sweet chenin. Orangish-caramel color, still very bright nose and palate. This bottle had much more complexity than the previous few bottles of the same wine. Drinking now, should hold for years.

December 25, 2011 - This is an excellent wine that has not yet resolved all of its sugar. With 4 wines on the table (and Christmas Chinese food) I started drinking backwards (this first). Honey, candied citrus, smells more primary than evolved at this point. Not unctuous but definitely very rich. Got these for $35 and would have paid double. Long, penetrating finish and plenty of acidity. Absolutely killed everything else on the table (Erbes Auslese, Soucherie Chaume, Zusslin Clos Liebenberg). This is not as electric as great Huet bottles but it is an absurd bottle at teh under $50 pricepoint.
