December 21, 2023 - PNP into Riedel Performance Pinot Noir ("Leaf" to "No" day): Pale bright garnet to the eyes.

Noticeably a step-up on the complexity on the nose with sous bois (more mushroom like), smoky florals, dark red and black wild berries and cherries.

Very nicely integrated on the palate. Again the texture here is what set this apart. Mellow and complex but sadly not the longest finish here.

    94-95 points easy.

January 11, 2023 - Classic Rouget...light ethereal, friand, small strawberries, perfectly balanced, silky, so much Vosne style, weightless, effortless, Burgs like this, you could drink a whole bottle alone...:)

September 23, 2022 - Best villages: Similar aromatic and lifted nose to the Cathiard with a little more VA. Incredibly seductive and open-knit wine that showed the purity of 2010 fruit well - was thinking that this was either a 2005 or 2010 as it clearly came from a warmer year without being unbalanced. More overt pepper spice notes, some tea leaves, perhaps from the greater oak use than the Cathiard but it didn't come across as obtrusive. Couldn't decide between this or the 09 Cathiard as WOTN, both top notch wines.

July 30, 2022 - An excellent village wine. Dusty red fruits on the nose with some baking spices. Clean and mineral inviting additional sniffs to unearth the various aromas, appealing! On the palate, again clean, velvetty and long. Dry & mineral, wrapped in red fruits, with good length. The body is what grounds me in the fact this is a village wine. A bargain at E50 purchase price.

May 8, 2021 - One of my very favourite wine makers/masters.

Truly magical Pinot, all the way from Cros Parantoux to this Vosne Romanee. Just a lovely seducing Vosne. The perfume is nice but not overwhelming, although for sure Pinot, but followed by an enticing, if not addictive pronounced pinot noir personality in the mouth, so recognizable Rouget, with that magic Rouget personality lingering for a minute and more. If you want to experience what Rouget is about, and frankly; what makes Vosne Romanee great at ties, this wine is an "affordable" (realy?) way to get the gist of that. Worth the money.

Yes the Echezeaux and Cros Parantoux are big, incredible wines, but the beauty of the Vosne Romanee is that it clearly stems from the same aristocrat roots. Lovely!

December 8, 2019 - PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Leaf to Fruit” day): Bright pale ruby with slightly purplish rim. Brilliant colours.

Ethereal nose of red and blue berry pinot fruits, savoury and a little sprinkle of fresh herbs. Elegant white spices too. Slightest hint of Animale that adds to the complexity. Deep.

Again super fine on palate with perfectly judged acidity, minerality and mix of elegant spices. Very flavourful with flavours largely consistent with nose on palate. Distinctive “Vosne spices“ on finish. Very enjoyable and beautiful wine this is.

Hard to put this under 94 points. But it should have more to come in future.

1 hour upon opening: Fruits are incredibly alluring with broader spectrum than before. Highly mineral indeed. Retain at 94 points.

June 2, 2018 - Tasting with some wine freaks (Private Location, Frankfurt, Germany): Also poured blind by Samer and we were all at a Premier Cru from Vosne. Very surprised when we saw the bottle. Like the Premier Cru we had the day before this Vosne-Romanee is dominated by red fruit flavors. But the fruit is much cleaner and purer than the 08 showed. Herbs, earth and the typical Vosne spices come out. Collin called it a kind of chilly powder. We had a long chat after this wine and it was constantly developing in the glass. A more sophisticated kind of red burgundy but on the other side it has the perfect amount of acidity to flow down like water. Long, super, super elegant finish. I´m really impressed by this Village and I´m 100% sure that German Pinots (maybe with one exception) couldn´t play on this level. Even the really big guns. There is this Burgundy magic here. Everyone who knows this wines knows what I mean.

June 2, 2018 - Tasting with some wine geeks (@Private location, Frankfurt): Glass: Gabriel Standard
Very fine, elegant and quite intoxicating nose with fine red fruit, herbs and spices. On the palate fine and elegant red fruit, a lovely saltiness, some iodine, herbs and a good structure and texture. Good balance and elegance. Long finish. Wonderful Burgundy. 92-93
