December 11, 2023 - OMG #105 (Ann Arbor, MI): Thin, short, and too hot (15.2% abv)--but redeemed somewhat by pretty berry fruit.

November 16, 2018 - Surprisingly still drinking well. The fruit has faded a bit but still present.

I have one more and will drink in the next 6 month or so.

October 30, 2015 - Light color, odd aroma (tin, metallic?) but had a very nice flavor of red berries and some hints of spice. The structure was very soft. Enjoyable wine.

July 29, 2015 - Last one and really drinking well...subtle kiwi, cola, raspberries, acids....integrated perfectly and great right out of the bottle.

April 7, 2011 - Blind Tasting 2004 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noirs (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Pretty red cherry nose. Light to medium body with sweet raspberry and cranberry fruit. Just a touch of both astringency and heat on the finish keep this from being great. (my 3rd, group's 2nd)

November 27, 2010 - Cranberry in color, nose and taste making it a wonderful wine for the holiday - or post holiday. But of course, it is much more than that as well with black cherry, smoke, earth and vanilla. This fruit is deep on this, but not in an overdone way at all. The mouthfeel is surprisingly light (for a Loring). The finish is long with smoke, earth and vanilla. Nothing at of place and a very pleasing wine. 15.2% alc. With leftovers from Thanksgiving (smoked duck with a cranberry sauce, sweet potato biscuits, cornbread & sausage dressing and roasted brussel sprouts). Recommended.

October 10, 2010 - bitter kale / strawberry nose. Purple cherry color. Great integration...gelatin, strawberry, hint of kiwi, kale boiled in seawater, tar.....Lorings get better with age and are a huge QPR.

May 19, 2010 - I hear it is time for me to start finishing off my 04 LWCs. We had this over 2 nights. This is showing a little bit of brown on the color but still looking very nice. The aromas have a smokey tar element which wraps around the sweet dark fruit. At this stage the wine is about the front and mid palate because the finish is short and slightly bitter. The flavors fall in line with the nose. Dark flavors. Ripe plums and black berries. Full/medium body. The fruit doesn't seem to be fading in the least and this has nice balance but I can imagine this showing more development so I would drink up.

April 3, 2010 - Cannot imagine this getting any better from this point out. Cracked 'er open and drank right from the cellar. No funk or spritz that seem to be in the other Loring vineyard bottles. Warmed up nicely and had bright berry flavors from start to finish. Enough tannin to give a bit of a smoky finish that lasted about 20 seconds.
