May 10, 2020 - 11th of 12, opened an hour, perfect level, half travelled cork, better and back on top form, almost sweaty mourvedre notes, excellent complexity and drive, no rush. F+ (18).

February 8, 2020 - Solid though sort of boring with ripe purple fruits, edgy tannins, soft acidity, and touches of earth. This seems over extracted and surprisingly modern, I am not sure what the current style is in Brunello but this wine certainly harkens to what I recall about this era.

January 11, 2020 - Surprisingly little change since my last tasting note from June 2016. The firm tannins stand the wine in good stead and protect the fruit, it seems. Excellent, mature Brunello. Fully mature but no rush. One bottle left.

March 15, 2019 - 10th of 12, opened an hour, perfect cork and level, consistent with previous bottles, impressive weight of fruit with decent complexity, if in modern style, alcohol a tad intrusive, seemingly much higher than stated 14%, no rush. F (17.5).

July 21, 2018 - 9th of 12, opened 30 minutes, perfect cork and level, little changed from last note in 2017, on plateau of maturity, maybe fractionally trading burliness in favour of nuance, if it continues may well be worthy of an upgrade. Certainly F (17.5).

(Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino) Dark red violet color with pale meniscus; cassis, currant, berry and tart plum nose; tight but good cassis and graphite palate with dusty tannins, needs several years; medium-plus finish
