April 6, 2024 - Another Wine gathering at RJ’s; 4/4/2024-4/7/2024 (Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina): Medium expressive nose displaying ripe red fruit, dry cherry, black cherry, fruitcake, tobacco, garrigue, dark spices and mineral. Excellent concentration, generous sweet ripe black fruit, rich and deeply toned, bright acidity, earth mineral and a long ripe black fruit driven finish with licorice at the end. Justin is a bit disappointed for not finding "white pepper" and I agree. This is a bit riper and more black fruit driven than ususal.

March 22, 2024 - Fully-evolved, with its focus on dried cherries, roses, orange peel, and zesty, sweet kirsch. Lighter in weight than the top vintages, there is a gorgeous sense of purity to the sweet kirsch and cherries. I just wish there was more of it. Drink from 2024-2031.

September 15, 2023 - This bottle totally delivered tonight! Extremely elegant, with beautiful aromatics and silky, super delicate fruit. Lots of bright strawberry and leather, a little earthy and quite complex. WOTN against 01’ red label Giacosa and 10’ Cecile Tremblay, both of which were excellent.

June 3, 2023 - Salut Montreal (Montreal Area): This pours light garnet in the glass, with light bricking. Immediately expressive but increases in interest and complexity as it opens with air. Over the course of the 3 hours followed it reveals dried orange peel, leather, green olive, brine, lilac, decaying rose petal, cured meat, dried raspberry, smoky incense, and just a touch of prune to remind you this is from the warm southern Rhone. The palate is absolute silk with no hard edges at all. Tannin is low, acid is medium and there is no alcohol showing at all along the long finish built on leather, brine, and light prune elements. Just a sensational wine and showing oh so well.

May 3, 2023 - Dégustation de six Rayas

    2001
