March 26, 2024 - Last week at Maison. Already open for business. Compact and super concentrated nose of black olives, raw hare meat and thyme. Less black pepper than usually. Sweetness behind the acidity and mature tannins. Much less backwards then 1999, 2001 and 2005 in its youth.

January 14, 2024 - Nez envoûtant de rosiers sauvages et de pain grillé.
En bouche c’est capiteux sans être lourd avec une acidité bien présente et un alcool parfaitement imperceptible. Les tanins sont intégrés à la texture suave. Grand vin.

November 22, 2023 - First Wednesday Wine Club Rhone Dinner (One Penny Red, Summer Hill): liquorice, farmyard, black pepper, crushed rock, black over blue berry, a sense of freshness, slight whole bunch. With time a little olive tapenade, mushroom. Juicy, fleshy, flavours as per the nose with a little sweet black fruit core, tannins are dying ripe, slightly chalky, long, lovely, near perfect, very good indeed.

October 31, 2023 - Winefield's dinner: My favourite of the night even though this was still more about potential. Ripe, dark red and blue fruit with a little liquorice. Had excellent restraint and freshness despite the warmer vintage. Liked the depth and velvety texture of this, will age effortlessly without a doubt.
