    December 23, 2022 - This is a giant wine.
Reminds me more of Mclaren Vale than a Barossa flavour profile, spicy with dark fruit and huge currant and black liquorice on the nose.
Finishes is smooth, with cracked black pepper could have cellared for a few years more.

April 15, 2020 - Night 1: drinking beautifully. 15.1ABV, but not a HINT of alcohol volume. Expressive black fruits, mocha and licorice. SMOOTH tannins and a good lick of acid. Restrained Barossa power. Terrific example of Barossa shiraz at a everyday price. Drink over the next 10-20 years.

Night 2: still richly fruited and vibrant.

October 14, 2016 - Dark plum, black licorice, and damp, dark wood on the nose. Dark fruit, herbal sweet spices on the pallette. This is a classic Barbosa Shiraz and a good baby brother to Amon-Ra for sure. Super thick and very long finish...pleasant acidity to balance the fruit. I wouldn't hold this any longer, it's ready now.

April 28, 2016 - Quite a dark colour for this Amon-Ra baby brother. Shame is on screw top as it definitely deserves a cork especially given this is named in honour of Ben Glaetzer's mother.
An opulent, light ethereal start with dark fruits, liquorice, light plums, herby spicy twist too. Well ripe on the palate, medium on the acidity, good depth but times heavy and lacks the charm of the Amon-Ra. A pretty solid wine and a well deserved 90-91 area from us.

January 2, 2015 - Almost syrupy (in a good way) black fruits on the nose. On the palate, it's got a fair amount of dusty tannins and good acidity, with bright blue and black fruits, and a satisfying finish. I'm not a huge fan of Aussie Shiraz, but this is a particularly good good one, with richness and nice balance. Very good now, probably better in a year or two.
