December 20, 2021 - I got this 10 years ago, then forgot about it until recently. The cork crumbled badly - my fault for treating it like a younger bottle - so I've been constantly dodging cork bits while drinking this (even with a filter!). The color seems to be just starting to brick, with thin edges. A nose of cedar, rum, and slightly overbaked strawberry pie. Medium bodied, very dirty cranberries, sage and rosemary, a trace of cherries, rustic tannins, smoke and leather, and a really nice, long dry finish. Very enjoyable and worth the wait.
July 28, 2021 - Wow. This has gone from bruiser to elegant. No sign of any fading but why wait it's in a perfect drinking window.
April 8, 2021 - Continues on, steady from my previous notes. Thoroughly enjoyable!!
April 8, 2021 - Corked
December 22, 2020 - Extremely well-balanced at this stage with a gorgeous fruit profile of mixed red and black in harmony. Extra years in the cellar really paid off for this wine. I would drink this over the next few years but don't hold it too long. Found it very approachable with or without food.
December 18, 2020 - Has benefited from five years more bottle age vs. the previous bottle I had - has definitely made a nice difference. This feels more open and complete now. Dark fruit, nice tannins, everything quite balanced and delicious. Pretty solid.
December 12, 2020 - Still quite youthful, still showing dark fruit, oak and plenty of tannins. Has definitely softened a bit, but still has some chewy tannins that make it tough to have as a sipper.
November 21, 2020 - A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied red, with blackberry, tar and licorice, with a spicy but dry finish, still very good. www.winelx.com
October 31, 2020 - Obviously rich and deep and leathery, but not as interesting as my previous bottle 4 years ago. This is starting to take on porty notes to me (note: I stored it at 64F, so YMMV). But my wife , who detests port, found it quite nice, so go figure. Better the second night, surprisingly.
October 23, 2020 - Wow, what a wonderful Toro. Bravo, Mora.
